Kula Lodge Restaurant

This restaurant is not located inside the Haleakala National Park but is located on Highway 378 on the way to Haleakala. Kula Lodge is a quaint restaurant with some gorgeous views of Maui. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it's a good place to stop on the way up or on the way down from the volcano. We came here for dinner after our Haleakala experience. For dinner the prices were a bit high, but the food was good. For appetizers (we worked quite an appetite on the slopes of Haleakala) we had the Thai spring rolls and seared ahi. The seared ahi turned out to be very delicious. For main course we had veal and a Mahi Mahi with a sort of Thai sauce; they were both very good. There was also pasta, rack of lamb, filet mignon, and chicken breast. They are apparently very famous for their breakfast but we didn't get there in time to try it.

Kula Lodge Pizza

If you stop by Kula Lodge between 11.00 am and 12.00 pm or between 4.00 and 5.00 pm the restaurant is closed but they will serve you pizza on the outdoor patio. You don't get the same views of the island from the patio but you'll get a view of the garden that boasts many beautiful flowers (you can stroll through the garden). I had the "Pizza Carbonara" with bacon which turned out to be very good. I don't remember the name of Cris' pizza, but mine was better anyway :)
